Peoria State Hospital Historic District, also known as Bartonville State Hospital or Illinois Asylum for the Incurable Insane, was a psychiatric hospital operated by the State of Illinois from 1902 to 1973. The hospital is located in Bartonville, Illinois, near the city of Peoria in Peoria County.
According to "The Heritage of Franklin County Illinois" by Susie M. Ramsey and Flossie P. Miller (1964), "Tyrone Township was named after an old steamboat. The first land entries were made by Levi Silkwood and John Kirkpatrick in 1831, and John Mulkey in 1833." (Pg. 16, 1993 Print Shop reprint edition)
Limestone Community High School is a public high school in Bartonville, Peoria County, Illinois. As of 2017 [update] , the school had an average enrollment of 867 students [ 3 ] and average full-time equivalent of 70 teachers.
In September 2010, the school was identified by Chicago Magazine as third on the list of Best Elementary Schools in the Lake County. In years 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010, Oak Grove School was identified in the top 5% of all Illinois Schools by Searchlight A+ Award for high student achievement as measured by Illinois Standards Achievement Test.
