I'm experiencing issues connecting a pair of Sony WH-CH720N Bluetooth headphones to a Windows 11 laptop. To summarise: 1) The laptop is completely up to date as far as updates and drivers are concerned. 2) The headphones are on the latest version of firmware. 3) I have attempted to pair the headphones with the laptop but the device is not ...
Select "Bluetooth" in the pop up box. Look for your headphones in the list. You want to pair with "WH-CH700N" (do not pair with anything LE). If you're asked for a pin number, type: 0000 (that's four zeros) When your headphones and computer are paired with each other and connected, you will hear a voice guidance "BLUETOOTH connected".
Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth and other devices. Switch on Bluetooth and click the Add Bluetooth or other device button. Select Bluetooth and wait for your headphones to appear in the list. 5. Switch off other Bluetooth devices If other Bluetooth devices are switched on and connected, this may prevent the headphones from connecting.

The device connects via bluetooth and is detected by the PC, the sound is coming fine, but its not enabling the microphone. Checked all microphone settings to ensure those are enabled.
My WH1000XM4 Sony Bluetooth headphones have bad sound quality when connected to my laptop, compared to other devices such as an iPhone where the sound is fine. This is presumably because of the hands free headset mode.

use the audio cable provided by Sony to plug into your laptop, then upon unplugging and using bluetooth/wireless again, it somehow fixes the issue. my sound output now shows instead of "Headphones (WH-1000XM5)" instead of "Headset (WH-1000XM5 Hands-Free)" mic input also now has "Headset - WH-1000XM5"
