Boroondara was an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly [1] in the Australian state of Victoria from 1877 to 1889 and 1904 to 1945. It included the eastern Melbourne suburbs of Kew , Camberwell and Hawthorn .
Proposed works for the project included widening the Eastern Freeway by one lane in each direction up to Tram Road. The City of Boroondara strongly objected to any potential for parkland to be used in the widening of the road reserve in numerous submissions in 2013 and 2014.
Eventually, the decision was made to merge the entirety of Camberwell with Hawthorn and Kew to form the newly created City of Boroondara, which took effect on 22 June 1994.
