The Ogunquit Museum of American Art (OMAA) is an art museum [1] located in Ogunquit, Maine. The Museum officially opened in 1953 and was founded by Lost Generation artist Henry Strater. Situated near Perkins Cove, the Museum and its three acres of sculpture gardens overlook Narrow Cove with views directly over the Atlantic Ocean.

Ogunquit (/ oʊ ˈ ɡ ʌ ŋ k w ɪ t / oh-GUN-kwit) is a resort town in York County, Maine, United States. As of the 2020 census , its population was 1,577. [ 2 ]
It is a man-made inlet, created by digging out a channel between what was formerly Flat Pond and the Gulf of Maine. This provided a shelter for the fishermen to anchor their dories. [7] The Marginal Way, a mile-long public footpath along the rocky coastal shoreline, stretches from Perkins Cove to central Ogunquit. [8]
He belonged to the Brushians, a Portland art group which went on weekend outings. He exhibited his work with the Boston Art Club, the Portland Society of Art, and elsewhere. His oil painting Delano Park, Cape Elizabeth (1904) is in the collection of Blaine House, the Maine governor's official residence. [6] He was an avid art collector.
