A Royal Air Force flight sergeant. Flight sergeant (commonly abbreviated to Flt Sgt, F/Sgt, FSGT or, currently correctly in the RAF, FS [1]) is a senior non-commissioned rank in the Royal Air Force [2] and several other air forces which have adopted all or part of the RAF rank structure.

Chief technician (Chf Tech or formerly C/T) is a senior non-commissioned rank in the Royal Air Force which is only held by aviators in technical trades and by musicians. [1] It is between sergeant and flight sergeant and, like the latter has a NATO code of OR-7. Aviators in non-technical trades progress directly from sergeant to flight sergeant.
The RAF based its officer ranks on the Royal Navy, and its airmen ranks on the British Army. Unlike the RAF, RAAF rank abbreviations are always written in uppercase without spaces (e.g. Pilot Officer is written as PLTOFF, not Plt Off). The rank insignia is very similar to that of the RAF for Corporal and above and for all officers.
