One study exploring the extent of introgression among three species of poplar trees (P. balsamifera, P. angustifolia and P. trichocarpa) conducted along the Rock Mountain range in the U.S. and Canada found extensive introgression in areas of species converge. Genomic sequencing even showed a trispecies hybrid in these overlapping areas.

The moving ranges involved are serially correlated so runs or cycles can show up on the moving average chart that do not indicate real problems in the underlying process. [ 2 ] : 237 In some cases, it may be advisable to use the median of the moving range rather than its average, as when the calculated range data contains a few large values ...
The group of species lacking overlapping generations mostly consists of univoltine insects, and some annual plants. One example of univoltine insects, only breeding once a year, is Dawson's burrowing bee, Amegilla dawsoni. [5] Although annual plants die after one season, not all annual plants truly lack overlapping generations.
For example, micro-allopatry, also known as macro-sympatry, is a condition where there are two populations whose ranges overlap completely, but contact between the species is prevented because they occupy completely different ecological niches (such as diurnal vs. nocturnal).
Character displacement was first explicitly explained by William L. Brown Jr. and E. O. Wilson in 1956: "Two closely related species have overlapping ranges. [1] In the parts of the ranges where one species occurs alone, the populations of that species are similar to the other species and may even be very difficult to distinguish from it.
Prior work by WG3 and SC32 mirror bodies, particularly in INCITS Data Management (formerly INCITS DM32), has helped to define a new planned Part 16 of the SQL Standard, which allows a read-only graph query to be called inside a SQL SELECT statement, matching a graph pattern using syntax which is very close to Cypher, PGQL and G-CORE, and ...
There is evidence that introgression is a ubiquitous phenomenon in plants and animals, [9] [10] including humans, [11] in which it may have introduced the microcephalin D allele. [ 12 ] It has been proposed that, historically, introgression with wild animals is a large contributor to the wide range of diversity found in domestic animals, rather ...
