According to the United States Census Bureau Quartzsite is all land and has a total area of 36.3 sq mi (94.0 km 2). Quartzsite lies on the western portion of the La Posa Plain along Tyson Wash . The Dome Rock Mountains overlook the town on the west with Granite Mountain on the southwest edge of the town and Oldman Mountain on the northwest.
State Route 95 Alternate (SA 95), also known as SR 95 Truck, is a short spur of SR 95 in Parker. Locally, it is also known as California Avenue . Commercial vehicles travelling from either end of the highway must stop at inspection stations situated at the Parker Port of Entry between 3rd Street and 4th Street, provided such facilities are open.

U.S. Route 95 was a late addition to Arizona's U.S. Highway system, having been extended into the state around 1960 during the dawn of the Interstate Highway System. [6] [7] Though it is a short section of highway, only traveling between Ehrenberg and San Luis at the Mexico–United States border, it also serves as the main north–south highway to the cities of Yuma, San Luis, and Quartzsite. The northern portion of the mountains can be accessed from the west via Arizona State Route 95; from the east through the Colorado River Indian Reservation, and I 10. Quartzsite is in the east center of the range and provides numerous access points. Ehrenberg to the west provides access to areas of the western mountain flank.
