In five and half years, Landsberg Prison was the place of execution of 252 condemned war criminals, all of them by hanging. [4] Executions were carried out expeditiously. In May 1946, 28 former SS guards from Dachau were hanged within a four-day period. [ 5 ]

Otto Förschner: Ex SS-Sturmbannführer and former commandant of the Mittelbau-Dora concentration camp (1943–1945) and commander of the Dachau satellite-camp of Kaufering (February–April 1945). Sentenced to death on 13 December 1945 for crimes committed during his tenure at Kaufering. Executed on 28 May 1946.
Under the heading "Executions" on page 33, the report describes a large gas chamber at the camp, which had a capacity of 200 people, in addition to five smaller chambers. It bore the inscription "Brausebad" (shower bath) above the door and inside there were 15 shower heads through which poisonous gas was introduced.
