Voyager trike Hello all, On the Voyager you can control how much lean the unit has by changing the pre-load. By using 3/4" instead of 1/2" you will get less lean or if you wanted more lean use 1/4". I normally work with many factors for setting the pre-load of the unit; the drivers weight, trailer towing, if they're carrying a passenger.
Austin. Nov 28, 2017. Thread starter. #3. We're glad you like our style! The Voyager Classic style (with the rear body cover) has been around for just over a decade. The newest addition to the Voyager cosmetics are the fiberglass fender options. You can see the Rounded fender on the Kawasaki, the Flared fender on the Honda and Harley, and there ...
I'm glad to have the voyager kit, and one day, I'll get a full trike, but I don't regret my decision because my choice was either voyager kit (or something similar) or stay on 2 wheels and a wife who won't ride with me on 2 wheels. I got it used and bought the mounting plate for a total of $2500.
I don't care for the looks of the tow pac, trigg or any of the other small wheel kits similar to the Voyager. I seem to like the idea that it is removeable, and some say it is more stable overall. I can get an American trike kit for 6000.00 plus paint & wheels, and a few other mods.
Great Voyager Trikes. Those look fantastic, beautiful, and expensive, but all trikes are kinda that way. Mine is a 2003 Harley Road King with a Standard "old school" twin-shock Voyager. Keep up the good work posting and ride safely! Oldveteran :Trike1:
Re: Voyager Kits -----Hello, Im new here and hope someone can steer me in the right direction no pun intended. I just had a Voyager kit installed on my 1988 Kawasaki Voyager, 1300, Like the Goldwings. Looks great. My question is, we set it at 1/2 inch preload. When me and my wife are on it, probably little over 400 some odd pounds.

Jul 30, 2011. #14. Re: Has anyone actually installed an MTC Voyager kit on their bike? when you set your pre-load make sure there is no air in the rear shocks. Set the pre load at 3/4" then pump up the shocks. I found on my royal star venture, the more pre load the better the steering.
I also had one for a year on a 750 automatic i loved it. But like wingtriker he is absolutely correct you really have to go to the factory or a "experienced" installer not some one who is learning or does 1-2 a year. I got mine because i had located a automatic bike and there arent exactly any...
The TG has a smoother ride, and with the steering damper, the handling is awesome. I have found that I have no trouble keeping up with and many times outrunning my friends on comparable 2-wheelers. That said, I would probably not take the NT w/Voyager through twisties at anything like the speed that I would on the TG.
