The Taiwan Professional Basketball League (TPBL, Chinese: 台灣職業籃球大聯盟) is a professional basketball league in Taiwan composed of 7 teams. It is the fourth Taiwanese professional basketball league after the Chinese Basketball Alliance (CBA; 1994–1999), P. League+ (PLG; founded in 2020), and T1 League (2021–2024).
Each team plays against another six times, three at home and three on the road, respectively. Each team plays 36 matches total in the regular season. [2] Play-in series: Best-of-three series. The series are contested by the teams that finished the regular season as the fourth seed and fifth seed. The fourth seed is awarded a one-win advantage.
It is the first fully professional basketball league in Taiwan after the Chinese Basketball Alliance (CBA) ceased operations in 2000. The TSG GhostHawks (Chinese: 台鋼獵鷹) are a Taiwanese professional basketball team based in Tainan City. They have competed in the T1 League since the 2021–22 season, and play their home games at the Chia Nan University of Pharmacy and Science Shao Tsung Gymnasium. The GhostHawks became one of the six teams of the inaugural T1 League season.
