The Albany Rural Cemetery was established October 7, 1844, in Menands, New York, United States, just outside the city of Albany, New York. It is renowned as one of the most beautiful, pastoral cemeteries in the U.S., at over 400 acres (1.6 km 2). Many historical American figures are buried there. [2]

[citation needed] It was renamed Inman, in 1889, after Major Henry Inman, [4] who was first the namesake for Lake Inman, located approximately 4 miles (6 km) east of the town. [5]
Inman died on November 13, 1899, in Topeka, Kansas [1] and was buried at Ellsworth Cemetery. [5] He was said to have looked like his friend Buffalo Bill when they were together.
