The University of Tennessee Southern (UT Southern or UTS) is a public university in Pulaski, Tennessee. Founded in 1870, it was a private institution for over 150 years until joining the University of Tennessee System in 2021. [1] [2] It was renamed and became the first new primary campus in the University of Tennessee System in over 50 years.

The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is a public research university located in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.The university was founded in its current form in 1988, though its origins as a technical institution can be traced back to the 1870s.
On July 1, 2008, feminist theologian Serene Jones became UTS's first female president in its 172-year history, succeeding Joseph C. Hough Jr. [13] On June 10, 2014, Jones announced that UTS would be joining the movement to divest from the fossil fuels industry in protest at the damage the industry is causing to the environment.
