Krishnapatnam Port popularly known as KPCL is a privately built and owned all weather, deep water port on the east coast of India, located in the Nellore District of Andhra Pradesh. It is located about 190 km north of the Chennai Port and 18 km east of the city of Nellore .

[8] The approach channel has a depth of 16 metres (52 ft) and a minimum width of 200 metres (660 ft), allowing vessels with a draft of 15.5 m to arrive and depart the harbor without tidal assistance.

As of November 2015, Krishnapatnam Port is a major port situated at a distance of 24 km from Nellore city. Krishnapatnam is able to manage large ships with load capacities of 1,50,000 tonnes [clarification needed]. It has become one of the deepest port of India with 18 meters of draft. [5] [6]
