The 7.62×25mm Tokarev cartridge (designated as the 7.62 × 25 Tokarev by the C.I.P. [5]) is a Soviet rimless bottleneck pistol cartridge widely used in former Soviet states and in China, among other countries.
With a rimless, bottlenecked case using smokeless powder, the 7.65×25mm Borchardt adapted features of the 7.92 mm cartridge used in the 1888 pattern M/88 rifle, essentially scaling it down for use in a pistol.
After that, military ball ammunition loaded with a 10.5-gram (162.0 gr) spitzer bullet fired at a muzzle velocity of 750 m/s (2,461 ft/s) with 2,953 J (2,178 ft⋅lbf) muzzle energy from a 589 mm (23.2 in) long barrel became available. Besides a pointed nose, this projectile also had a boat tail to reduce drag.
The 7.63×25mm Mauser (.30 Mauser Automatic) round is a bottleneck, rimless, centerfire cartridge, originally developed for the Mauser C96 service pistol. This cartridge headspaces on the shoulder of the case. [1]
The 7.5 BRNO was developed between 2009 and 2014, for the specific purpose of providing high capacity automatic pistols the ability to engage combatant targets at a range of between 75–150 metres (82–164 yd) while retaining more kinetic energy at that range than a 9×19mm Parabellum cartridge can generate at the muzzle/point blank range.
