Haight-Ashbury (/ ˌ h eɪ t ˈ æ ʃ b ɛr i,-b ər i /) is a district of San Francisco, California, named for the intersection of Haight and Ashbury streets. It is also called the Haight and the Upper Haight . [ 5 ]
After the departure of Al Rinker, Ken Englander and others took up the Switchboard concept. They moved to a storefront office at 1797 Haight St]. Peggy Louise Caserta (September 12, 1940 – November 21, 2024) was an American businesswoman and memoirist. She owned Mnasidika, a boutique in San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury district that became a hub for the counterculture of the 1960s, and published two memoirs, including one detailing her relationship with singer Janis Joplin.
The Booksmith is an independent bookstore located in the Haight Ashbury neighborhood of San Francisco.
