Map of Zwolle in 1572 shows two "water gates", one for the smaller "Kleine Aa", and the Waterpoort for the "Grote Aa". A ship is moored in front of what would later become the Vrouwenhuis. The house originally faced the harbour, near the old weigh house that served as a portage point for ships travelling the IJssel river. [ 1 ]

Zwolle (Dutch: ⓘ) is a city and municipality in the Northeastern Netherlands. It is the capital of the province of Overijssel and the province's second-largest municipality, after Enschede, and has a population of 132,441 as of December 2023. Zwolle borders the province of Gelderland and lies on the eastern side of the River IJssel.

Zwolle is a hamlet in the province of Gelderland, Netherlands. It is located in the municipality of Oost Gelre, about 3 km southeast of the town of Groenlo.
