Apocalypse is an eschatological film franchise written and produced by brothers Peter and Paul LaLonde, the makers of the similar Left Behind series. Like the latter, the films were produced and released by Cloud Ten Pictures. [1] It focuses on the events that take place during the Great Tribulation period after the Biblical Rapture.
As of October 1, 2010, the rights to the Left Behind film series have officially been restored to Cloud Ten Pictures, and the company is planning a remake of the series. Cloud Ten was hoping to start development on the remake by late 2011. [needs update] Cloud Ten released three films in 2008: Smuggler's Ransom, Genius Club and Saving God.
The first three films were produced by Cloud Ten Pictures and directed by Vic Sarin (Left Behind: The Movie), Bill Corcoran (Left Behind II: Tribulation Force), and Craig R. Baxley (Left Behind: World at War).
A reboot starring Nicolas Cage, entitled Left Behind, was released in 2014 through Cloud Ten Pictures. [3] A sequel, Left Behind: Rise of the Antichrist, directed by and starring Kevin Sorbo, was released in 2023.
