I'm currently planning on making a 20 gallon aquarium that will have live rocks, 1/2" of sand, and 4 dwarf blue-leg hermit crabs. I also want to add fish in, but with so many options, I'm not sure which to get. Hopefully with your experience, I can finally decide. No corals or anemones planned. Requirements for the fishy: - Must be compatible ...
Look into Goby species, many options for a nano tank there. As far as inverts, coral banded shrimp are my favorite. I enjoy emerald crabs as well. For coral, start with a good selection of softies like toadstools, fingers, kenya trees, even some green star polyps and zoanthids! Happy reefing. Mar 15, 2021. #3.
20 gallon tall. Hey guys! I have a 20 gallon tall tank that will be a reef tank, for coral I’ll probably mostly do zoas, at least one pulsing Xenia, a duncan or two, and maybe a hammer coral. The tank has been cycling for about 3 weeks and I’m getting ready to start adding fish.
1 ocellaris clown. 1 firefish. 1 banggai/pajama cardinal. 1 bicolor/tailspot blenny. Click to expand... The clownfish might get aggressive towards the other fish in this tank which are peaceful. A 20 gallon is not a lot of space to keep a clownfish with several other fish. I would not do this.
Hi I am wondering how many more fish I can have in my 20g aquarium here is a list of what I have: The fish are: 2 frostbite ocellarus clownfish. I purple firefish. The crustaceans are: 1 candy cane pistol. 1 skunk cleaner shrimp. 2 emerald crabs.
0 0 0. It really depends on the size and type of the fish you plan to keep. Without knowing specifics, I’d say 4 fish in total, but 5 or 6 *might* be possible. And the 2-3 inch size doesn’t always mean the same thing across different species, so be mindful. My McCoskers wrasse is 2.5-3 inches and needs more space to swim and is very active.

Looks like the highest Cobalt powerhead is the MJ1200 at 295 GPH, which is too low. You could run multiple powerheads (but that's an extra thing in the tank, an extra plug, etc - not ideal for a nano).
Buy captive bred direct from ORA, Biota, or Proaquatix. Way less likely to have illness than wild caught. If you really can’t QT, it lowers the risk for parasites significantly.
You can run a hob filter if you want but not necessary, changing the water weekly will keep the tank healthy. If you want some easy corals then it’s just a matter if getting a light, probably AI Prime 16 for that tank would be perfect. it can be as simple or as complex as you want, but simple is easier. Hey Everyone, This is going to be the build thread for my DIY AIO 20 Gallon Long Reef. Everything was built from scratch. This idea has been in my head for years, and has finally come to fruition. To begin, I designed the stand.
