Encinitas (Spanish for "Small Oaks") is a beach city in the North County area of San Diego County, California, United States.Located within Southern California, it is approximately 25 miles (40 km) north of San Diego, [5] between Solana Beach and Carlsbad, and about 95 miles (153 km) south of Los Angeles.
The La Paloma Theater formally opened on February 11, 1928, with a showing of "The Cohens and Kelleys in Paris." The opening event for the movie was attended by actress Mary Pickford. Charlie Chaplin also performed at the theater. [1] It was one of the first theaters to show "talkies" as the talking pictures first premiered in 1927.

The beach, also known as "Swami’s Reef'" and "Swamis", is an internationally known surfing spot, a point break located in Encinitas, San Diego County, California.
