Ranking the 5 Donkey Kong Country Games. Yea, I first played them in college, starting with 1,2,3 then returns. TF came right as I graduated. Tropical Freeze is the greatest 2d platformer. I probably have played and finished ~40ish 2d platformers and any world in TF would be the best world in almost any other game.

I believe you're referring to the SuperFX chip. If I remember right, the FX chip wasn't actually in the SNES, but in certain cartridges, and it enabled very primitive polygon-based 3D graphics.
