The Defense Ministry on 24 January 2024 signed a ₹ 1,070 crore (US$120 million) contract for multi role FPVs will be indigenously designed, developed and manufactured by MDL under Buy (Indian-IDDM) Category and all boats will be delivered by 63 months from signing.

It manufactures warships and submarines for the Indian Navy and offshore platforms and associated support vessels for offshore oil drilling.
INS Mahendragiri is a Nilgiri-class (Project-17 Alpha) frigate of the Indian Navy. [13] It was built at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) in Mumbai and was formally launched by Sudesh Dhankhar, wife of Vice-President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar on 1 September 2023.
The Kolkata-class destroyers, also known Project 15A or Project 15 Alpha, are a class of stealth guided-missile destroyers constructed for the Indian Navy.The class comprises three ships – Kolkata, Kochi and Chennai, all of which were built by Mazagon Dock Limited (MDL) in India, and are the largest destroyers to be operated by the Indian Navy.
On 12 September 2011, it was announced that Pipavav Shipyard entered a joint venture with Mazagon Dock Limited to collaborately build warships and submarines using Pipavav's facilities. The deal was intended to free up the congested order book of Mazagon shipyard and to give Pipavav a much needed boost in defence shipbuilding. [6]
All the three ships of the class were constructed at the Mazagon Dock Limited. The construction of the lead ship, Shivalik, commenced in December 2000. The ship's keel was laid in July 2001 and was launched in April 2003. It underwent sea trials in February 2009 before being commissioned in April 2010.
INS Godavari (F20) was the lead ship of her class of guided-missile frigates of the Indian Navy.Built by Mazagon Dock Limited in Mumbai, she was the first Indian warship to be indigenously designed and built. [5]
