Williams Arcade's Greatest Hits is a video game anthology for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, PlayStation, Sega Genesis, Saturn, Game.com, Dreamcast, MS-DOS, and Microsoft Windows. The IBM PC compatible and game.com versions are titled Williams Arcade Classics, while the Saturn version was titled Midway Presents Arcade's Greatest Hits.
The collection includes twenty-eight Sega Genesis games from a variety of genres, as well as unlockable classic Sega arcade games, with different sets of arcade games for the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable versions. A sequel was released in 2009 called Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Reviews commented that Arcade Classics includes very few games compared to other retro compilations, [5] [3] [6] that it fails to recreate the experience the games offered in the arcades, [7] [3] that the "enhanced" versions offer nothing but mild cosmetic changes, [8] [3] [6] and that the overly "busy" backgrounds in the enhanced version of Centipede ...
The editors wrote: "We're recommending the new version of this old classic, because it looks so darn good and it'll be easier for most of you to get your hands on. But the award really goes out to the gameplay that made the original Pirates! great". [6] In 2018, Complex ranked Pirates! Gold 26th among "The 100 Best Sega Genesis Games". [4]
Sales were higher in North America and Europe, although the novelty of FMV and CD-enhanced games quickly wore off, as many later games were met with lukewarm or negative reviews. In 1995, Sega announced a shift in focus to its new console, the Saturn, and discontinued advertising for Genesis hardware. The Sega CD sold 2.24 million units worldwide.
