The Huskies men's ice hockey program began in 1960 under head coach John Chapman. UConn began NCAA competition at the NCAA Division III level in the ECAC East. In 2023, the Huskies moved to the new Toscano Family Ice Forum, adjacent to the Ice Forum. The 2,600-seat facility also hosts the UConn men's hockey team. [10] During the 2023–24 season, the Huskies posted a program best 25–8–5 record, and won their first Hockey East regular season championship in program history. [11]
