William Taylor Davidson (February 8, 1837 – January 3, 1915) was the owner and editor of the Fulton Democrat newspaper from 1858 to 1915. He was a staunch supporter of Stephen A. Douglas and a strong advocate for the views of the Peace Democrats or Copperheads during the American Civil War.

William Kellogg was born in Ashtabula County, Ohio, on July 8, 1814. [1] After attending local public schools, he studied law and was admitted to the bar.He moved to Canton, Illinois in about 1839 and commenced a law practice in partnership with Asa Lee Davidson, with a specialty in criminal law.
