The Silver Star Medal is a gold five-pointed star, 1 + 1 ⁄ 2 inches (38 mm) in circumscribing diameter with a laurel wreath encircling rays from the center and a 3 ⁄ 16 inch (4.8 mm) diameter silver star superimposed in the center. The pendant is suspended from a rectangular shaped metal loop with rounded corners.
The Silver Star premiered at Broadway's New Amsterdam Theatre on November 1, 1909, where it ran for 80 performances; closing on January 8, 1910. [1] Herbert Gresham directed, while Glaser and Bowers music directed. Julian Mitchell choreographed the show, F. Richard Anderson designed the costumes, and Ernest Albert designed the sets. [2]
