Anne of Green Gables (Japanese: 赤毛のアン, Hepburn: Akage no An, 'Red-haired Anne') is a Japanese animated television series and the fifth entry in Nippon Animation's World Masterpiece Theater (which has been known by several different names). It was adapted from the 1908 novel Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery.
"Hello Anne: Before Green Gables") is the 26th in Nippon Animation's World Masterpiece Theater anime. The series is an adaptation of Canadian children's literature author Budge Wilson 's 2008 prequel novel Before Green Gables , which was translated into Japanese as Konnichiwa Anne (こんにちは アン) by Akiko Usagawa.

Megan Elizabeth Laura Diana Follows (/ ˈ m iː ɡ ən / MEE-gən; born March 14, 1968) [1] is a Canadian-American actress and director. She is known for her role as Anne Shirley in the 1985 Canadian television miniseries Anne of Green Gables and its two sequels.
The series was developed for PBS and each episode contained an educational and/or moral component. In 2005, Sullivan Animation also produced the feature-length animated film Anne: Journey to Green Gables which is an imaginative, whimsical prequel to Sullivan's live action Anne of Green Gables film.
