The J-series is a 60° V6 unlike Honda's existing 90° C-series engines. Also unlike the C series, the J-series was specifically and only designed for transverse mounting. It has a shorter bore spacing (98 mm (3.86 in)), shorter connecting rods and a special smaller crankshaft than the C-series to reduce its size.
This engine is also used in Formula 3 cars, and so it is able to be fitted into a RWD car. Honda/Acura J-series V6 engine: Honda Civic, Honda S2000, Mazda Miata, Hot rods, Kit cars Can be used in both front and rear wheel drive layouts; the latter can be done with a GM TH-400 automatic transmission, a Mazda Miata, or Honda S2000 transmission.

Once a kit car has been correctly registered, a V5C, or log book, will be assigned and then a kit car is treated in exactly the same way as a production car, from any larger manufacturer. A kit car must pass its MOT test and have a valid car tax, or have a valid Statutory Off-Road Notification (SORN) declaration.
The fourth-generation Honda Civic was included in Car and Driver's 10Best for all four years (1988-1991). [8] The car was well-received globally, receiving “Golden Steering Wheel Award” from the German newspaper Bild am Sonntag, and ranking first in France’s l’Automobile magazine 1989 survey on car quality and reliability. The eleventh-generation Honda Civic (FE/FL) is a compact car manufactured by Honda since 2021, replacing the tenth-generation Civic. It was launched in the North American market in June 2021, in Southeast Asia in August, Japan and China in September, and Australia and New Zealand in December.
The seventh-generation Honda Civic is an automobile produced by Honda from 2000 until 2005. It debuted in September 2000 as a 2001 model. Its exterior dimensions stayed similar to the outgoing predecessor, with interior space significantly increased, bumping it up to the compact car size designation.
The Civic was largely developed as a new platform, and was the result of taking the previous Honda N600 and increasing the length, width, height and wheelbase. The engine displacement was almost double the N600 599 cc (36.6 cu in) at 1,169 cc (71.3 cu in), with two more cylinders and mounted transversely while using water cooling, benefiting from lessons learned from the Honda 1300.
