Iris Ann West-Allen (née West), is a fictional character in The CW's Arrowverse franchise, first introduced in the 2014 pilot episode of television series The Flash. The character is based on the DC Comics character of the same name , created by Robert Kanigher and Carmine Infantino .
He was formerly a marine biologist who was mutated in an accident. The Earth-1 version of his wife, marine biologist Tanya Lamden, was brought in by A.R.G.U.S. to work on her late husband's counterpart; inventing a telepathy crown to communicate with him. King Shark was briefly restored to normal when the Flash used a metahuman cure on him.
The role led to her appearing on other Arrowverse shows including Arrow, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow. In the third-season episode "Duet", she played Millie Foss, the daughter of gangsters, in a dream world scenario.
