Patrick Webb (born 1955) is an American artist who has portrayed contemporary queer experience through representational narrative paintings. [1] [2] [3] He is best known for his "Punchinello" paintings, begun in the early 1990s, which feature a gay "everyman" based on the Italian commedia dell'arte stock character, Pulcinella.
Sarah Webb was born in February 1948 in Nashville, Tennessee, where she was the fourth of five children born to Samuel Stone Butler and Carolyn Horton.Webb developed an early interest in art and by the age of twelve was taking classes in general art and oil painting.
Webb was born in London in 1939. She studied Fine Art at Newcastle University under British artists Richard Hamilton and Victor Pasmore from 1958 to 1963. [1] She went on to study at the Chelsea College of Arts, London and taught painting at the Norwich School of Art and Harrogate School of Art. [2]
