My Green Fedora is a 1935 Warner Bros. Merrie Melodies animated short film directed by Friz Freleng. [3] The short was released on May 4, 1935. [4] It features a song, "I'm Wearin' My Green Fedora," written by songwriters Al Sherman, Al Lewis, and Joseph Meyer specially for this short.
He was caricatured by Tex Avery and Friz Freleng in the musical cartoon, My Green Fedora, the Popeye the Sailor cartoon Can You Take It?, several pictures starring the bumbling stooge Egghead, and the Disney cartoon Mother Goose Goes Hollywood in which he says "Wanna buy a duck?" with Donald Duck on a plate.

The final box set in the series contains bonus material such as an alternate version of Hare Ribbin' and two live-action film segments with cameos by Bugs Bunny: My Dream Is Yours and Two Guys from Texas. The set also includes three World War II-era cartoon shorts featuring the sailor Hook that were made specially for the U.S. Armed Forces.
Around the same time, Schlesinger announced a studio-wide contest, with a money prize to whichever member of the staff turned in the best original story. Clampett's story won first prize and was made into My Green Fedora, also directed by Freleng. [7] Clampett felt encouraged after these successes and began writing more story contributions.
