The Jefferson Clinton Hotel, formerly known as the Dome Hotel, in the Armory Square area of Syracuse, New York, United States, is a hotel dating from 1927. It was designed by architect Gustavus A. Young, [ 2 ] who also worked on the design for the Hotel Syracuse (1924).
Today, Armory Square is the home of some of Syracuse's better restaurants, at least two coffeehouses, a radio station company, dozens of small shops selling everything from band instruments to used records to women's clothing, several bars and nightclubs, Urban Outfitters, Armory Massage Therapy, a newly restored upscale hotel and two tattoo parlors.
Gillett was born in 1840 and served in the Union Army during the American Civil War.He designed and built this house ca. 1875, and died in 1903. [2] [3]The house continued as a private residence until 1957, when it was purchased by the neighboring Trinity Episcopal Church.
