The 1955 Great Plains tornado outbreak was a deadly tornado outbreak that struck the southern and central U.S Great Plains States on May 25–26, 1955. It produced at least 48 tornadoes across seven states including two F5 tornadoes in Blackwell, Oklahoma , and Udall, Kansas that caused most of the casualties.
Five people were killed while 156 others were injured. Damage was estimated at $21 million. These were two of four F5 tornadoes across the country in 1968, the others being in southeastern Ohio on April 23 and in southwestern Minnesota on June 13. The next F5 tornadoes in Iowa took place in Jordan in 1976, and in Parkersburg, in 2008. [1] [2]

The 1996 Oakfield tornado outbreak was a severe weather event that occurred on July 18, 1996, in Wisconsin, United States, primarily affecting the village of Oakfield. [3] The outbreak produced 12 tornadoes , [ 2 ] with the most significant being an F5 tornado which caused severe damage to the village and the surrounding areas.
