Liuzhou (/ lj uː ˈ dʒ oʊ /; [3] Chinese: 柳州, IPA Pronunciation: [ljòʊ.ʈʂóʊ]) is a prefecture-level city in north-central Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, People's Republic of China. The prefecture's population was 4,153,500 as of 2023 census, [ 1 ] including 2,519,051 in the built-up area made of five urban districts.

It flows south through Liuzhou and then the Luoqing Jiang enters from the north. It meets the larger Hongshui He east of Laibin where it becomes known as the Qian Jiang. The Liujiang River basin covers an area of 57,173,000 square kilometers, spanning three provinces/regions of Guangxi, Guizhou and Hunan.
Major cities in Guangxi include Nanning, Liuzhou, Guilin, and Beihai. Notable towns include Longmen , Sanjiang, and Yangshuo.
