William Bertalan Walsh (April 26, 1920 – December 27, 1996) was the founder of Project HOPE (USA). Walsh was born on April 26, 1920, in Brooklyn. He received a bachelor's degree from St. John's University in Queens, New York. He graduated from medical school at Georgetown University in 1943.

The William Allison House (also known as Allison Heights) near College Grove, Tennessee is an antebellum, brick central passage plan house with Federal style detailing built during 1827–1832. It is a two-story house with a two-story rear ell and exterior brick chimneys. It has a one-story shed-roof addition from c. 1860 and a c. 1940 porch.

He was a surveyor of the port of Memphis, Tennessee from 1871 to 1883. [2] Elected as a Republican to the Forty-first Congress, Smith served from March 4, 1869 to March 3, 1871. [3] An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he engaged in the real estate and banking businesses. He was a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1876.
