The current name Tri-Chandra is a truncated combination of two words: Tribhuvan for Mahārājādhirāja Tribhuwan Bir Bikram Shah and Chandra for Rana Prime Minister Chandra Shumsher. The college was originally named Tribhuvan Chandra Intermediate Campus but later renamed and shortened to its current name. [1]
Before 2007 B.S., there was only one college in Nepal which was Tri-Chandra College. In Tri-Chandra College only the arts education was available - those students who were interested to study science in further level had to go to India. After 2007 BS, or after the democracy, there was a mushroom growth of school in Nepal.
Nepal Law Campus was established in 1954 by three professors of Tri-Chandra College under the leadership of Prof. Ram Raj Pant, who also served as its founding Principal. Two others instrumental in the establishment were Prof. Ratna Bahadur Bista and Prof. Ashutosh Ganguli.
The term Multiple refers to the several courses of various disciplines. The campus was established in 2011 BS. It was initially founded with the initiation of local education lovers, businessmen, politicians and the community. It became a part of Tribhuvan University in 1973 B.S. This campus is second oldest to Tri-Chandra College.
