The Edmonton Alberta Temple is the 67th operating temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The temple was the second to be built in Alberta; the first was built in Cardston in 1923. The temple serves about 15,700 members in the area.
The Cardston Alberta Temple is the oldest LDS temple outside the United States. In the winter of 1829–30, Oliver Cowdery and Hiram Page visited Upper Canada while seeking money to finance the publication of the Book of Mormon.
The Edmonton Alberta Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was dedicated on December 11, 1999. The Hindu Community in Edmonton is served by the Hindu Society of Alberta [4] (North Indian Temple) and the Maha Ganapathy Society of Alberta (South Indian Temple). [5] The Sikh community in Edmonton is served by four Gurudawaras.

They are considered by church members to be the most sacred structures on earth. When construction is completed, temples are usually open to the public for a short period of time (an "open house").
