The 2012 Luzon southwest monsoon floods (informally known in Tagalog as Hagupít ng Habagat, "wrath of the monsoon" and Bagsík ng Habagat, "fierceness of the monsoon", from habagat, the Filipino term for the southwest monsoon), was an eight-day period of torrential rain and thunderstorms in Luzon in the Philippines from August 1 to August 8, 2012.

According to the Tagalog folklore, Amihan is the first creature to inhabit the universe, along with the gods called Bathala and Aman Sinaya. In the legend, Amihan is described as a bird who saved the first human beings, Malakas and Maganda, from a bamboo plant.

The singing of the Bangsamoro Hymn is mandated by law, particularly the Bangsamoro Organic Law, to be sung after the Philippine national anthem. [8] Bangsamoro Autonomy Act No. 7 also allows for a version of the hymn in Arabic, Filipino or any other indigenous Bangsamoro languages to be officially adopted with approval of the Chief Minister.
