The Provincial Junior Hockey League (PJHL) is a Canadian junior ice hockey league spanning parts of Southern Ontario. The PJHL is the third tier of the Ontario Hockey Association and is sanctioned by the Ontario Hockey Federation and Hockey Canada. The league was formed in 2016 with the merging of eight Junior C leagues.
PJHL can refer to any of the following ice hockey leagues in Canada: Provincial Junior Hockey League, a league in Ontario; Pacific Junior Hockey League, a league in British Columbia. The Ice Hawks joined the league in 1997 as an expansion team. In its PJHL history, the team has won the Cyclone Taylor Cup once, in 2006. The 2006 Championship Ice Hawks team suffered no regulation losses in the PJHL playoffs. The Ice Hawks have won the PJHL Championship in 2001, 2006, 2012, 2018 and 2023.

There have been Multiple junior hockey teams in Bracebridge. The last time Bracebridge had a junior C team was the Bracebridge Bears 1974-78. In between the Jr C affiliations Bracebridge had junior teams involved with the independent Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League and the Canadian International Hockey League.The Phantoms were announced on April 14, 2012, by the GMHL.

The provincial champion moves on to compete for the Keystone Cup Western Canadian Junior 'B' championship. The league draws many players from Saskatchewan.
