Dallas Water Utilities (DWU) is the water and wastewater service operated by the City of Dallas, Texas, in the United States.DWU is a non-profit City of Dallas department that provides services to the city and 31 nearby communities, employs approximately 1450 people, and consists of 26 programs.
The utility also owns 50% of units 1 and 2 at the coal-fired Fayette Power Project in La Grange and 16% of the South Texas Nuclear Project in Bay City (near Houston). [2] The STNP was the subject of a binding citizen referendum (November 3, 1981) to sell Austin's part in the project. STNP went online in 1986.
Texas does not have townships; areas within a county are either incorporated or unincorporated.
