The Kawartha lakes with Jack Lake (P). Jack Lake is a lake and reservoir in the municipalities of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen and North Kawartha in Central Ontario, Canada.It lies about 160 km (100 mi) northeast of Toronto, at the edge of the Canadian Shield in the northeastern portion of the Kawartha Lakes region.

Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park (officially Kawartha Highlands Signature Site) is a 375-square-kilometre (145 sq mi) area of preserved wilderness and recreational areas in south-central Ontario, Canada. It is located to the north and east of the main belt of the Kawartha Lakes, primarily in the township of North Kawartha.
Four Mile Lake is a relatively shallow warm water lake with a surface area of 786 hectares (1,940 acres). The lake is located in the sub watershed of Corben Creek and has a flushing rate of approximately five years.
From here it turned west and followed the same course as the modern canal to Portage Road (formerly Ontario Highway 48, today Kawartha Lakes Road 48). Passing under the road, it resumed a north-easterly course towards the village of Victoria Road , where it flowed as it continues to today, now controlled by a dam , westward into the Talbot River.

Kawartha Lakes Road 45 (formerly Highway 503) follows the southern and western shoreline of the lake. The community of Head Lake is located on the southern shore of the lake. The lake is in the Great Lakes Basin and is about 5 km (3.1 mi) wide and 8 km (5.0 mi) long.
