RangiTaranga (English: Colourful Wave) is a 2015 Indian Kannada-language mystery thriller film written and directed by Anup Bhandari in his debut, and produced by H. K. Prakash, under Shree Devi Entertainers. It features debutantes Nirup Bhandari, Radhika Chetan and Avantika Shetty in the lead roles, along with veteran actor, Saikumar.
William started work in Kannada cinema in 2008 with Shivashankar produced "Shivani" as a cinematographer. [2] Post which he has also worked with N Venugopal Nayak in 2009 starrer "Minchu", which was a remake of the Tamil movie Thimiru (2006). [3] [4] Prior to working in Kannada cinema, he has worked in Hindi as well as Marathi films.
The films are made primarily in Kannada-language. The 2006 film Mungaru Male was the first Kannada film to gross ₹ 50 crores. [1] The 2017 film Raajakumara was the first Kannada movie to gross ₹75 crore mark. [2] KGF: Chapter 1 (2018) was the first Kannada film to gross ₹100, ₹150, ₹200 and ₹250 crores.
It became the first Kannada film to release in many countries, the first Kannada film to appear on the New York Box Office Listing and the first and only Kannada film to run for 50 days in USA. RangiTaranga was also one of the 305 films shortlisted for the Academy Awards (The Oscars) but did not make it to the final nominations. [4] [5]
Avantika Shetty was born in a Tulu-speaking Tuluva Bunt community in Mangalore.She made her big screen debut with debutante Anup Bhandari's directorial Kannada thriller-drama RangiTaranga (2015), playing the role of Sandhya Bhargav, a journalist on the search of a mysterious writer with the pen name Anashku played by another debutante, Nirup Bhandari.
Rajaratha is a 2018 Indian Kannada-language romantic comedy film written and directed by Anup Bhandari, who also composed the film's music.It stars Arya, Nirup Bhandari and Avantika Shetty in the lead roles in their second collaboration with the director after the success of RangiTaranga.
Anup Bhandari was born on 2 March 1982 in Puttur, Karnataka to Sudhakar Bhandary and Rathna Bhandary. He was brought up in Mysore, where he obtained his bachelor's degree in Information Science from Vidya Vikas Institute of Engineering and Technology.
The movie was critically acclaimed for its screenplay, score and cinematography. Due to its word-of-mouth marketing the movie was a blockbuster in Karnataka and got a tremendous response in its worldwide release. Following Rangitaranga, Radhika played a supporting role in Pawan Kumar's thriller U Turn (2016). [4]
