The 2021 SAFF Championship, known as Ooredoo SAFF Championship 2021 for sponsorship reasons, [1] was the thirteenth edition of the SAFF Championship, the biennial international men's football championship of South Asia organised by South Asian Football Federation (SAFF).

The SAFF Championship 2001 was first postponed from Oct/Nov 2001 to Jan/Feb 2002 due to the suspension of the Bangladesh Football Federation from FIFA; the tournament finally took place in 2003. The 2022 SAFF U-20 Championship was the 4th edition of the SAFF U-20 Championship, an international football competition for men's under-18 national teams organized by South Asian Football Federation (SAFF). India was the hosts of the tournament, held between 25 July and 5 August 2022.
For 2021, the decision was made to make the tournament a U-16 tournament versus the previous three iterations which had been U-15. However, the tournament was ultimately postponed.
