" Perdonarte, ¿Para Qué?" (lit. ' Forgive You, For What? ') is a song by Mexican group Los Ángeles Azules and Argentine singer Emilia. It was released on 23 May 2024 through Promotodo México. The song was written by Andy Clay, Horacio Palencia, and Richard Torres, while Rodolfo Lugo handled its production.
The song was based on Claude Francois's 1974 hit "Le téléphone pleure". [1] As in the original, the song is built on a melodramatic story, in which a man calls his five-year-old daughter on the phone, but without her realizing that the heartbroken caller is actually her father - as he is the estranged husband of the child's mother, who left him before their daughter was born, six years earlier.
Los Ángeles Azules are a Mexican musical group that plays the cumbia sonidera genre, which is a cumbia subgenre using the accordion and synthesizers. This results in a fusion of the sounds of cumbia from the 1950-1970s with those of 1990s-style electronic music.
