The FIA WRC2 is a support championship of the World Rally Championship (WRC). [1] The calendar consists of the same rallies and stages as the parent series and crews usually compete immediately after Rally1 class crews. WRC2 is limited to production-based cars homologated under Group Rally2 (or previous R5) rules.
They can also be added on as aftermarket accessories and are powered by the bike's electrical system. Some touring motorcycles, such as the Honda Gold Wing, have louvred vents in the fairing which redirect warm air from around the engine or exhaust toward the rider. [1] These motorcycles may also feature vents for cooling the rider. [2]
The combined World Championship series was conceived as a result of efforts by the ASO, FIA and FIM to harmonize regulations. [4] After a vote by the World Motorsport Council to officially make rally raid the seventh world championship under the FIA in 2021, they joined with the FIM to combine their respective international cross-country rallying series into a single World Rally-Raid Championship.
Rally Paraguay is set to become a WRC event from 2025 after signing a multi-year deal, making Paraguay the thirty-eighth nation to host a WRC championship round. [18] The Croatia Rally will not be featured on the calendar for the first time since the event joined the championship in 2021. [19] However, the event is set to return in 2026. [20]
The WRC Promoter GmbH was also working on the two key calendar expansions for the future. [28] Progress had been made for the candidate event in the United States, a location that was also aiming to join the championship in 2024. [29] The other key expansion was Rally China, which was last featured in 1999.
The Vetter Fairing Company was a manufacturer of motorcycle accessories including the Windjammer series of motorcycle fairings. The business was founded by Craig Vetter in 1966, [3] sold in 1978, [4] and went bankrupt in 1983. Bell-Riddell Inc. acquired the assets, and produced fairings for a few years.
