Belinda Jo Carlisle (/ ˈ k ɑːr l aɪ l / KAR-lyle; born August 17, 1958) is an American singer and songwriter. She gained fame as the lead vocalist of the Go-Go's , one of the most successful all-female rock bands of all time, and went on to have a prolific career as a solo artist.
In 1987, Nowels produced Belinda Carlisle's album Heaven on Earth. The album also featured four songs written or co-written by Nowels, including " Heaven Is a Place on Earth " and " Circle in the Sand ", which went to number one and number seven, respectively, on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The album was released with a bonus DVD which included the videos of the songs on the album (excluding "Goodbye Just Go" which did not have a promotional video). The album is notable in that it was the first greatest hits released by Carlisle to include singles from all six of her English speaking studio albums.
