Aaron Robertson was born in Torrance, California, and moved with his parents to Midland, Michigan at the age of 4. He studied actuarial science as an undergraduate at the University of Michigan, and went on to graduate school in mathematics at Temple University in Philadelphia, where he was supervised by Doron Zeilberger.

Leslie Earl Robertson (February 12, 1928 – February 11, 2021) was an American engineer. He was the lead structural engineer of the Twin Towers of the original World Trade Center in New York City, [1] and served as structural engineer on numerous other projects, including the U.S. Steel Tower in Pittsburgh, Shanghai World Financial Center, and the Bank of China Tower in Hong Kong.
In 2004, Robertson received the E. M. Forster Award from The American Academy of Arts and Letters. In 2009 he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature [3] He completed the set of Forward Prizes in 2009 when "At Roane Head" won the award for Best Single Poem.
