Pine Knob is a hill located in Independence Township in Oakland County, near Clarkston, Michigan.The hill is classified as a summit. [3] It extends from Waldon Road to the south to Clarkston Road to the north, and from Sashabaw Road to the west to Pine Knob Road to the east. [4]
The district was formed in 1952. For a time in the early 2010s, Clarkston Community Schools' enrollment declined, but unlike other school districts, they did not close any schools. In 2014, enrollment was 8,282 students. In 2020, Sashabaw Middle School had 1,157 students. In 2016, Clarkston High School had 1,930 students.
The address of the amphitheater was officially changed in June 2019 from 7774 Sashabaw Road to 33 Bob Seger Drive, to honor the 33 shows he has done at the venue. Clarkston High School used to be in Clarkston, Michigan. The third Clarkston School was built in 1910 on Main Street (M-15). By the time the fourth Clarkston School was completed in 1930 in Independence Township, the area's population had started to decline. After World War II, Independence Township's population began to boom.
Waterford Township High School was located in Waterford Township, Michigan at the corner of Highland Rd. and Crescent Lake Rd. It was closed as a high school in 1983, but the Board of Education continued to use the building for several years for various purposes.
