Hollinwood is an area and electoral ward of the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham, Greater Manchester, England. [1] The population at the 2011 census was 10,920. [2] Bisected by the A62 road, Hollinwood is southwest of Oldham, contiguous with the towns of Chadderton and Failsworth, at Junction 22 of the M60 motorway. [3]
The population density is higher in Oldham (15.8 people per hectare) than in England (4.1) although it is lower than that for Greater Manchester (21). [67] Females continue to make up over half (51%) of Oldham's population, which is comparable to Greater Manchester, North West and national figures (50.6%, 50.9%, 50.8% respectively).
The present constituency was formed in 1997 from parts of the former Oldham Central and Royton and Oldham West constituencies and has to date been a safe seat for the Labour Party, having been held by Michael Meacher since the 1997 general election. Woodhouses is a village near Failsworth, in the Oldham district of Greater Manchester (which was part of Lancashire until 1974), England. It is about 5 miles (8 km) miles from Manchester city centre. In 2021 it had a population of 1094. [1] Woodhouses Conservation Area includes most of the village and was designated in 1975. [2]
