The Institute of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (IBMBB), Sri Lanka, is the National Node for European Molecular Biology Network and is designated as a Resource Centre for Molecular Life Sciences by the International Programme in Chemical Sciences, University of Uppsala, Sweden.

Carmel College for Women is an institute of higher education Nuvem, Goa, India. The college was established in 1964. It is the first college for women in Goa. The college is run by the nuns of the Carmel Congregation. The college began with the departments of Arts and Science and then expanded to Department of Commerce in 1987.
The University of Sri Lanka was a public university in Sri Lanka. Established in 1972 by amalgamating the four existing universities, it was the only university in Sri Lanka from 1972 until 1978.
