The mountain overlooks the Connecticut River and the town of Colebrook, New Hampshire to the east. At its highest point, the mountain is 3,148 ft (960 m) high. Colebrook is a town in Coös County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 2,084 at the time of the 2020 census , [ 2 ] down from 2,301 at the 2010 census. [ 3 ] Situated in the Great North Woods Region , it is bounded on the west by the Connecticut River and home to Beaver Brook Falls Natural Area.
The park is home to the New Hampshire Snowmobile Museum, Old Allenstown Meeting House, and the Richard Diehl Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Museum, which are in historic buildings built by the Civilian Conservation Corps. [6] In 1985 and 2000, the remains of a total of four female bodies, one adult and three children, were found in the park.
